crkr44: are you still in school? how’s that? is emelia there?

reyonthehill: no, i graduated in may 2003
reyonthehill: it was cool

crkr44: what are you doing?
reyonthehill: yes, emilia is here with me, she is on her
way to class
crkr44: where? for what
crkr44: ?
reyonthehill: she is taking water classes
reyonthehill: at san jose state
crkr44: you guys are all nerds

crkr44: what was your degree in?
reyonthehill: the life we lead
reyonthehill: i got ms in geotech
reyonthehill: hows maryland
crkr44: so, are you doing that now?
reyonthehill: yes, im working for a geotech firm
crkr44: MD is good. I have been having a lot of fun lately.
I live downtown in Baltimore.
crkr44: do you like it?

reyonthehill: u mean work?
crkr44: yeah
reyonthehill: yea i couldnt imagine doing any other line
of work
reyonthehill: engineering wise
crkr44: that’s great
reyonthehill: how is ure work?
crkr44: what type of projects do you do? or what do you
do?
crkr44: my work is blah. I like the co, I like the people, I
just don’t think engineering is for me. (I guess I knew this all
along) I am getting my MBA. I wnat to get into something
else
reyonthehill: i worked for 8 months at a small specialty
firm before working here; there we specialized in
excavation shoring, shafts, etc.;
crkr44: cool
reyonthehill: here is more geotech, exploratio, soil nail
walls, foundations, mse walls, etc, we do a lot of
remedial grading.
reyonthehill: where u going to school?
crkr44: Loyola College
crkr44: its in Baltimore
reyonthehill: cool
reyonthehill: i have heard of the palce
crkr44: ahh, good
crkr44: so are you and ‘meilia serious?
reyonthehill: yes, im always thinking about going back
to school, i never really wanted to leave, but u need to
kame money at some point
crkr44: yeah, I guess you do
crkr44: work isn’t bad though. I just try and make the best
of it
reyonthehill: well, we bought a house, we move in in
late novemnber
reyonthehill: what type of work?
reyonthehill: im too busy at my job now though, no time
to breathe really
crkr44: my company does transportation stuff
reyonthehill: oh yea i remember
crkr44: house, that’s big
crkr44: I talked to Sommers the other day. Haqve you
seen those two?
reyonthehill: well i have a funny story about that
reyonthehill: the short answr is no
reyonthehill: and they wont take our calls anymore
reyonthehill: though we dont call them
crkr44: huh
crkr44: ? was there a falling out?
reyonthehill: okay short-long story
crkr44: by the way, all the “we’s” are hilarious
reyonthehill: emilia thought that the twosome had
broken up since the two had different addresses (in
syracuse alumni listings) which i guess dont mean a
thing
reyonthehill: then i get a random email from greg
mentioning how they vbought a place together (around
8 months ago) which i forwarded to emilia
reyonthehill: she replies dsaying “i guess i was wrong,
they are still together” and may have written an
additional line i cant remmeber now
reyonthehill: but she replyed ALL
reyonthehill: and greg got the email
reyonthehill: which if u read quickly might sound bad if
u were greg or liz (not really, but u know how people
are)
reyonthehill: especially if it was unintentionally sent to
u
crkr44: I hear ya. like maybe it sounded like you thought
they would spit
reyonthehill: then emilia tried to RECALL the message
with OUTLOOK
crkr44: that’s funny
reyonthehill: so greg got an email saying EMILIA is
RECALLING such a message
reyonthehill: doesnt look good
crkr44: ha ha. that’s funny email humor
reyonthehill: for new years em and i went to santa
barbara and took a day to go to LA
reyonthehill: i tried calling liz and greg and they
wouldnt call us bac
crkr44: that’s bs
reyonthehill: although i am not sure if i had right
number or not, but it makes story sound better that
way
crkr44: its not even like anything was bad
crkr44: ha ha, it does
reyonthehill: yes, i specialize in email humor
reyonthehill: thats the story
crkr44: that’s all I am good at
crkr44: your right, it was long
reyonthehill: it cant really be told any shorter’
reyonthehill: tarantion was up here a eek or two ago
crkr44: how’s he? I talked him months ago on IM. He
said he was big into sky diving
reyonthehill: yes thats all he talked about
reyonthehill: but he did mention some nasty rumors
about u and (jeff somerlot maybe) and cokacola
crkr44: that’s cool he came out there. did he do it just to
visit?
reyonthehill: no
reyonthehill: his girl has family and shit
crkr44: what rumors?
reyonthehill: that u and (jeff maybe, i cant remember)
were driving to nyc to taste some cokacola
crkr44: ha ha.
crkr44: I did take a trip up there a long time ago
crkr44: it was fun.
reyonthehill: he expressed all the time
crkr44: no way. once
reyonthehill: thought so
reyonthehill: i work about 50 – 55 hrs a week
unfortunately, but its cool, learning new shit almost
everyday, and certainly building up the resume in the
meantime

want to get into

crkr44: I don’t know. Some type of business. a start up
type thing would be cool. I want to figure out how to do shit

reyonthehill: i was thinking mba wehn i was graduating
at berkeley and still think of it today
crkr44: I am excited about school. I am just anxious to do
something that gets me going
reyonthehill: as a pssibility
reyonthehill: right on
crkr44: you will be all degreed up
crkr44: I am sure you will figure it all out
crkr44: do you think you will stay on the west coast
reyonthehill: yes, that will all be just filler
reyonthehill: for a while at least, the house is an
investment, we will probably end up on east coast
again, we have in back of mind phila, balt, dc, delaware,
etc areas
crkr44: cool
reyonthehill: u staying in balt area?
crkr44: I guess. I wouldn’t mind moving, but I don’t have a
reason. Its good for now.
reyonthehill: i quit smoking a few months ago as well
crkr44: hows that going?
crkr44: I haven’t done that in awhile?
